Day Celebrated
Teachers Day was celebrated at the premises of Smt. Jamuna
Devi Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Umrangso with all enthusiasm on 5th
September 2018 along with various colourful programmes by the students.
The grand event was started with lightening of lamp in front
of the portrait of Maa Saraswati followed by Guru Pujan (Offering to Teachers)
and Vandana. After the programme it was time for students of class X to act as
teacher for one day. One student was appointed as Pradhanacharya under whom all
other classmates were assigned to take class from Ankur to Class VII. Some of
our Acharyas observed the classes to find out the three best performers.
After the academic programme, stage programme was started. The
stage was inaugurated by Sjt. Lokanta Langthasa, President of our vidyalaya
with the lightening of lamp in front of the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli
Radhakrishnan followed by a welcome song of class IX students. The programme
was continued upto 3.00 p.m. along with various group and solo dance programmes
of different tribes like, Dimasa, Karbi, Nepali, Assamese, Bodo etc. Three
dramas on different themes were the main attraction of the day.
Kids Fashion Show in Traditional Attire became the icing on
the cake and greatly appreciated by the gathering of about 500 including
parents and local villagers. In the midst of the cultural programmes short
speeches on various topics by the Chief Guest, Pradhanacharya, Special Guest and
students and felicitation to Acharyas and outdoor competition among Acharyas
were also included.
The event was concluded with National Anthem followed by
refreshment to all at 3.30 p.m.
